Social Media Official Accounts Guidelines

ENEOS Group Social Media Official Account Guidelines have been established to regulate the use of official accounts on social media to achieve better communication with stakeholders.

1. Purpose of Guidelines

The purpose of the ENEOS Group Social Media Official Account Guidelines (hereafter "Guidelines") is for users to enjoy the information posted in the ENEOS Group official social media accounts (hereafter "Official Accounts") established in accordance with the "ENEOS Group Social Medial Policy," and to set the rules for publication by users to Official Accounts ("publication" as meant here is contents provided to Official Accounts including comments, photographs, videos, etc.; the same applies hereafter) (which is collectively referred to hereafter as "Using Official Accounts"). The specifications, operation method, and information communicated for the Guidelines and Official Accounts (including deletion of publication and Official Accounts) may be changed without notice.

2. Compliance

All users when using Official Accounts shall observe these Guidelines and the Terms of Use of the respective social media.

3. Disclaimer

The ENEOS Group shall in no way be held responsible for the following specified items.

  • Any damage suffered by the user due to use of, or not being able to use, the information posted on Official Accounts.
  • The contents of information posted by all users and any trouble or damage caused thereby (including, but not limited to, trouble that occurs between users and between a user and a third party).

Further, copyrights and other rights (including moral rights of author) in relation to contents belong to the user concerned. However, the user grants to the ENEOS Group the right to use the contents worldwide free of charge and on a non-exclusive basis, and the user agrees not to exercise any copyrights or other rights (including moral rights of author) against the group.

4. Prohibited Items

The actions specified in the following items are prohibited when using Official Accounts. When contents posted to Official Accounts fall under any of the following items, the ENEOS Group may delete such contents, block the account, or take other actions without prior notice to the user who posted them. In addition, when necessary, we may report the publication of such contents to the social media provider and other appropriate organizations. The user may be liable for any damage caused to the ENEOS Group or third parties in the use of Official Accounts.

  1. 1.Acts that violate or could violate legal requirements, including laws and regulations, or other social norms.
  2. 2.Acts that infringe the rights of the Company or a third party, including copyrights, trademarks, and publicity rights.
  3. 3.Contents for the purpose of committing a crime or actions to encourage the committing of a crime.
  4. 4.Acts that violate privacy such as the personal information or human rights of a third party.
  5. 5.Acts that defame a specific individual, company, country, region, etc.
  6. 6.Acts that violate the Terms of Use of the respective social media.
  7. 7.Acts for commercial or profit-making purposes, such as promotion of one's own products, introduction of one's own company, advertising, etc.
  8. 8.Acts for the purpose of political, religious, or election campaign activities.
  9. 9.Inappropriate acts, including malicious expressions, etc.
  10. 10.Acts that interfere with the smooth operation of Official Accounts or acts that disturb other people.
  11. 11.Acts that defame or slander the Company's products.
  12. 12.Acts concerning business operators that are not related to the Company.
  13. 13.Acts that discriminate or promote discrimination based on race, gender, ideas, interests, beliefs, etc.
  14. 14.Harmful programs, etc.
  15. 15.Altering the whole or part of contents posted by the Company.
  16. 16.Acts unrelated to contents posted by the Company.
  17. 17.Any other acts that the Company deems to be inappropriate in light of social norms and the purpose of Official Accounts.

Information from Official Accounts may not be reprinted or otherwise reproduced without permission from the ENEOS Group, except for personal use or quotations and other acts generally permitted under copyright law. When quoting, etc., please ensure that the source is clearly shown.

5. Privacy Policy, etc.

In the event that the ENEOS Group collects personal information from users in the operation of Official Accounts, such personal information will be appropriately managed in accordance with the ENEOS Xplora Privacy Policy.

6. Handling of Disputes

These Guidelines shall be governed by the laws of Japan and the Tokyo District Court shall be the agreed court of first instance with exclusive jurisdiction if any disputes occur with respect to the use of Official Accounts or these Guidelines.

Comments and Inquiries from Customers
